For worship yesterday we began our congregational singing with All Creatures of Our God and King. The intro and first verse was robust and organ-led. As we ended the first verse, I began a lite acoustic guitar groove, with the band coming in after me.

We then sang Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing. Even though someone in our church recommended not doing modulations, I did. Don’t know what you might think about it, but I find modulating for a final verse very effective for helping our hearts exult in what our mouths are singing. I also now include a verse I learned from Bob Kauflin’s recording, Together for the Gospel Live.

Oh that day when freed from sinning
I shall see Thy lovely face
Full arrayed in blood-washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry
Bring Thy promises to pass
For I know Thy pow’r will keep me
Till I’m home with Thee at last

We finished with the song, All I Have is Christ

For Communion we played an instrumental of Great is Thy Faithfulness, followed by Bob Kauflin’s O the Deep, Deep Love (which is a fresh arrangement of O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus; Free charts here.)
